Northumberland 2015 Day 1
After a good journey to Northumberland the weather was unfortunately against us so we were unable to go on the boat trip to The Farne Islands. Luckily, the lovely staff at the nearby RNLI station invited us in for a great talk and a look at their famous orange life boats. The children had some fantastic questions!
As planned, we then visited the Grace Darling museum and saw lots of interesting artefacts from her life. A quick look at the Grace Darling memorial in the village graveyard with a look round St. Aiden’s church and it was time to head to our hotel.
We tucked into fish and chips, followed by sticky toffee pudding before a short night walk and lights out. A very busy first day!
